Mike Brooks VS Cutright

Mike BrooksVSJeremiah Cutright

Now that the veterans Gohmann and Knight were out of the ring, it was time for 2 newbies Mike Brooks and Jeremiah Cutright to square off. As the fight kicked off, Brooks went for a low blow that hadn't seen employed since the Jody Barnes VS Popp fight. Taking a lot of flak from the crowd, Brooks quit his underhanded ways(pun intended!) and fought like a man. Early into the match, Cutright was swinging wide and Brooks was a dancing fast. Neither of the two strategies seem to work. Cutright's wide hooks were easily avoided by Brooks and ,despite how impressive it was, Brook's dancing made him look like the "Lord of the Dance."(Not to be confused with the real "Lord of the Dance" James Hess)

As the fight continued on, Brooks was able to take advantage of Cutright's wide swings by dodging them and then hitting back. Although, Steve Knight(geust referee) had to keep warning Brooks to keep the shots above the belt. Eventually, Cutright's own punches were his own downfall as it left him unbalanced which made him fall to the ground. Once he got himself up, Cutright was sure not to make the same mistake again. This time he took a more defensive pose with his arms blocking face. He was able to block the jabs and hooks that Brooks threw at him. He managed to keep this defense up until the end of the first round.

As the second round kicked off, the fighters returned to their swinging wide hooks and while they look impressive sometimes, most of the time they usually just hit air as they were quite easy to dodge. Brooks shows us how right here.

The fight would continue on pretty much like this for the rest of the fight until Cutright made the same mistake he made in the first round: Wide swings throw you off balance. So when Cutright kissed the ground for the second time he learned his lesson and ended the fight.
